| I just had to ask. Of course that's what everyone calls me, but I only have 2 kitties! Now the ladies I talk to at the rescue....they are crazy cat ladies! I saw these really cute window stickers on Amazon that I am seriously considering getting a couple. One for each Jeep. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...crazy+cat+lady That's my search. We will see if it goes through. I guess it doesn't matter how many you have, I know I am crazy about my kitties, and all kitties really! We have a bunch of snow and I have an early doctors appointment and have no idea whether or not they are opened or closed. Their phone lines open 15 minutes after my appt! |

| Well the light and humorous side of it, "I have one cat and I'm crazy about him!" So I'm a "crazy cat lady" and so are all adoring female cat guardians. The negative reality of the "crazy cat lady" concept is the female (although it can totally be a male!) person who usually has problems with social interaction among humans, and develops a cat hoarding situation...taking on more cats than they can reasonably care for. Often neglecting their own needs just to provide a basic level of care for the cats, living in a house where the cats poop and shed everywhere... Like most uses of the word "crazy" there is the haha, cute, not really crazy version... And then there is the severe and serious mental illness version that isn't cute IN THE SLIGHTEST. I kinda raise an eyebrow at the occasional friend who throws around "crazy" like it's a good thing. I've seen real crazy. No one wants to be real crazy. |

| I knew a lady who had twelve cats and another who had fourteen. They both took very good care of them and there wasn't a whiff of an odor. All were spayed or neutered. No one is crazy for loving animals and providing them with good homes. |

| I agree with Sonic_Spork. If the mental illness is there it doesn't matter how many cats they have, but the longer it goes on untreated the more cats the person will have. And I have nothing but sympathy for those people because being socially awkward myself I understand preferring to spend time with animals instead of people and working at a shelter I have easy access to cats in need of a home. I understand it because if I didn't have the inner strength to stop myself and a landlord who imposes a two-pet limit, I could see myself giving up and becoming one of them. But because I have the mental part in check I'm just the fun kind of crazy cat lady, the one who calls her cats her babies and obsesses over them. |
